Melissa Taylor

My fashion background began with my degree at The New School Parsons where I studied design apparel. The energy and influence of the city filled my creative cup and I learned all aspects of the design process.

I was fortunate to learn under a colorist for the Donna Karen brand and it was exciting to see everything that goes into setting up a line from swatch samples, patterning, mood board inspiration and fittings.

I used my experience and entered a corporate retail setting where I advanced from Men's Department Manager to opening a new store with a management Team as HR Manager.

After a time a craved designing and stepped into being an owner of my small business Mel's Summershop where I immersed into the vintage community and market world in OKC. I loved creating and collaborating with this community and learned a lot about running a business!

When the opportunity as a dresser with Universal came around I did not hesitate as being a part of the production world after college in Los Angeles I was ready to explore a specific concentration in costumes!

My variety of experiences from corporate to creative has allowed me to adapt quickly to professional environments and strive to a successful end goal!
